Petricola are from the Rift lakes (Tanganyika), which is hard water (high mineral content). Featherfins" I'm assuming you are referring to Synodontis eupterus) is a riverine species soft water (low mineral content). Basically, I would say don't do it. But people do all kinds of stuff. One of these cats will most likely suffer, if you do mix them. My 2¢
