Ram tankmates for L134
I have a small group of L134's that I am hoping to breed at some point, however I like black ram cichlids (and would also like to breed them at some point) and was wondering if anyone had any advice on how they would do in the same aquarium together? From what I understand, both like the temperature on the warmer side, along with PH & GH requirements etc. being similar. The tank is 125 litres, 80cm H x 35cm W x 50cm D. I was also planning to keep a tetra species in there, either Lemon, cardinal or Rummy nose so any advise on the best of them would also be appreciated. The L134's will be the priority in terms of breeding.

Re: Ram tankmates for L134
Hi @Hutchy1998. Welcome to PlanetCatfish!
(L134) is a lovely fish. I keep mine in neutral pH water or slightly acidic (pH 5-7.5) at 83F and a TDS of about 100-150ppm (not by choice, but I don't buy RO water for home).
I have never kept rams, so I can't comment on their suitability as tankmates, but I am keeping L134 and they have bred for me in the past (I'd love to get them to restart, but no luck recently). The tetras shouldn't be a problem; at various times, I've had mine with tetras, corys and other plecos (L397).
Cheers,
Eric

Re: Ram tankmates for L134
Thanks Eric! Appreciate the reply and the welcome.
Good to know, particularly the temp, the fact that they are comfortable and breed at 83f makes me even more sure that Rams would enjoy it and don't think they will be an issue for the plecos but just wanted to be sure.

A friend of mine keeps them together just be wary that if the rams get to close or inside a males cave they might be killed
