I'm going abroad (west Africa) for work soon, so I thought I'd do one last photoshoot in the store before I head out. My plan today was to finish up with every Loricariidae in the store, and I almost made it! I have now covered some 95% of the species kept in the store, which is decent knowing all the weird stuff Haakon imports, and this will probably give him just another reason to import some more weird stuff

Today I photographed almost 20 species of Plecos and kin, and completed all the Loricariidae on display. Next ting on the menu is to go through all the tanks "out back"
First species in the phototank today was this pretty thing: the Green Whiptail (

I am currently sitting at the Research Vessel Dr. Fridtjof Nansen some 90 nautical miles off the coast of Cote d'Ivoire. If we are lucky with what we get in the catches, and what I see ashore, I might be posting images of wild catfish and habitat in a month or two, although snakes and reptiles will be the focus during my time ashore
But until then you need to make due with captive specimens. I will hopefully have a strong enough connection to post the remaining species from the recent shoot, but for now, here is

Doing another species today in anticipation of the next catch, and this is one I've photographed before. But when I saw this specimen in the tank I could not let this prime individual pass without posing as a model for a quick shoot.

No catfish in the catches so far, but plenty of other cool species.
Raja miraletus, Torpedo torpedo, Acanthurus monroviae etc etc.
But those are lower forms of fish compared to the all-mighty group of piscis this forum is dedicated to, right ;P
