Error when uploading photo to forum post

Post by bekateen »

Hi Jools,

I attempted to add a photo to a forum post. The operation seemed to work at first - I selected the photo and the upload started. The green progress bar beside the file name looked like the file was almost finished, then the upload stopped and a pop up window appeared with the simple message, "HTTP error. "

After the error appeared, the upload stopped and never finished.

Cheers,
Eric

Also, today I tried to upload files in different formats:
  • Uploading a .JPG file (what I tried to do last night), I received this error, which appears in a small pop-up window near the top of the screen.
    ERROR
    HTTP error.
  • Uploading a .PNG file that does not include a transparent background color designation, I again received the same "HTTP error." in the pop-up window.
    ERROR
    HTTP error.
  • Uploading a .PNG file that includes a transparent background color designation, I did not receive a pop-up error, but instead I noticed a yellow triangular warning sign with exclamation point in the "status" column to right of the upload. When I clicked on the status warning, it displayed a pop-up window with the phrase,
    ERROR
The image file you tried to attach is invalid.
  • Uploading a .BMP file, I received a different pop-up error message stating
    ERROR
    Invalid file extension: (filename.bmp).
I don't recall every having trouble uploading files with .BMP or .JPG formats, and I think I've successfully uploaded files with .PNG format that had a transparent background too. So all of this seems odd.

Cheers,
Eric

This will be a clash with the javascript used for uploading and the javascript I removed for the tooltip issue. Almost certain - looking into it.

This is now fixed. The temporary area used to initially hold upload files had unexpectedly filled up and so clearing it down has resolved the issue.

Cheers,

Jools
