Woodcatfish diet?
Hi everyone. After many years of wanting I have finally taken the plunge and set up a 5x2x2ft aquarium with 3 woodcatfish. My question is what would people suggest as a varied diet for them.
My thoughts so far are bloodworm, cut up prawn, bug biites, carnivore floating pellets? Any ideas help or advise is greatly appreciated.

Hello
Can I ask what species of wood cat you have?
I keep 3 sp, and they seem very happy with frozen bloodworms, hikari pellets, NLS pellets, and occasional earthworms.
I have found that they will eat almost anything, but the quantity that they eat is what always amazes me!!

Re: Woodcatfish diet?
I feed my woodcats mostly live blackworms and frozen bloodworms. Also occasionally small NLS thera A+ pellets or similar brands.

They are columbian wood catfish. Only around 5-6 inches atm so far they seem to be eating frozen mussel meat and blood worm. And going to try them on floating carnivore pellets? And when a bit bigger I might try prawn. Also how often do you feed them as I'm feeding every night after lights have gone off

Hi
I feed my fish nightly also, but have found that they will come out during the day also when food is introduced. Ive not kept Colombian but if they are anything like others, would come out any time when food is around!

Yes Eric. Sorry not quite up to scratch with the scientific names yet. Slowly studying and reading books on catfish. And ahh might try feeding during the day and see how it goes as my lighting is dim anyway as there is only the 3 catfish in the tank
