Here... The male has just spit out the cluster of over 25 eggs.
Luckily I was at home and was able to pick it up straight away

Third day since the male spat the eggs. For now they are doing well, but I have serious doubts about being able to complete reproduction, because a lot of dirt is accumulating around the cluster of eggs. In the long run I fear it will be a problem. Unfortunately the male spat out the eggs very early, so they will have to stay in the transparent plastic trayfor many days.

Hi Emanuel,
Greetings from Barcelona, Spain! I love this thread, your photos and videos! In the past I had L260 and in my tank they were very shy too (and it was a species only tank). I am absolutely in love with your L236, especially the yellow and regular version!
I am planning to setup a species only tank again, I have a spare 100L kicking around that I am thinking to repurpose for a small breeding group of Hypancistrus - depending on what I can find. Do you have a supplier that sends live fish to you, would be interested to receive tips.
Thanks and keep on sharing your photos and videos!
Ruud

To give the tank some liveliness, I recently bought a group of Melanotenia preacox and two M. boisemanni. Coexistence with Hypancistrus seems to work, but they are not at all intimidated by the liveliness of rainbowfish
