Hi all,
cheers Darrel
There is a FB group with plenty of USA based members <"Live Food Cultures for Aquariums"> It is a private group, so it isn't full of spam.

Re: where to get microworms
Once you have a microworm culture, be sure to put a portion aside, let it completely dry out (black and rock hard is fine) to provide a back up source in the future. The worms have internal eggs at all different stages of development and some will be ready at the time you dry the culture out. Just add water to hatch these. They will store for decades in a labelled ziplock plastic bag.
I've got the same strain of my first culture from keeping microworms forty five years ago. I occasionally store a new batch whilst testing viability of previous batches. It's easy to mail a starting culture when dry as well.

Thank you for the info, thats a really interesting way to store a backup culture. Ive always kept 2 cultures going and staggered when I start them, but drying some out and storing is a great idea.
