Would it be safe to have a small (1.5") L397 and 2 small (1") L173b plecos together in a 30 gal aquarium? Would they tolerate one another for a while? I know that L397 can be "aggressive to conspecifics," but I didn't know if "conspecifics" meant all other plecos, or just other L397's.
My tank is heavily planted, has several large pieces of drift wood for the L397, and some caves for the L173b's. There are 12 tetras, 6 corydoras, and a small Angel fish there, too.
Eventually, I'll set up another tank and move the L397 to that one, but that won't be for 3-6 months.
L397 and L173b in same tank?

Re: L397 and L173b in same tank?
Should be okay. I've never kept L397 with any Hypancistrus, but I have kept L397 with Peckoltia and Rineloricaria. All do well together.
