Are these both (or either?) L116? Very different body colors
The older fish (which is lighter in color and in the second photo) was sold as an L116. The darker, younger pleco (first photo) was also sold as an L116. I've never seen any odontodes on the older fish, and was wondering if they may eventually pair off, or if I have two, unrelated spotted plecos with orange fins now.

The first fish is , it could be L116, but L011 is much more likely and is what I'd go for in absence of any locality data on the basis that this forms the major export locality of this species.
I can't really see the second fish. It actually looks like (which is the numerically similar L114). Please post a picture showing the full fish.

Ah, so now I need to be on the look out for an L114, and most likely an L011? Or just wait for the juvenile to grow up before making any judgements?
The tank is a heavily planted 160g, so I'd think large enough for more than one set of plecos. (just nano fish, neos and a pair of SAE in the tank otherwise)
Would you have any guess as to the sex of the L114, or is there some indicator I should look for?

These are both good-sized plecos, there is spawning info on several species of on the site but nothing specifically on L011. The closest would be I'd suggest. These reports will also help you identify gender but it's not simple unless you have a lot of practice and then it's still fiddly. L011 may get a bit destructive in your planted tank once it gets bigger.
