What is this guy?

What is this guy? L number?
Was sold to me as a clown Pleco but I can find this guy anywhere on the internet.
Hopefully someone here may know.

I'm no expert but closest thing I can see is Hypancistrus L066. Got any more, different angled pics?

I agree the photo is not very helpful. It does resemble

L066

, but I suspect this is one of the

Aphanotorulus

species, although I'm not sure if I'm right, and if so, I'm not sure which species.

The clues are the large eyes positioned on the top of the head and elongate, relatively shallow body.

That said, the caudal peduncle is too short and stout in my opinion to be Aphanotorulus, which takes me back to Hypancistrus. Always, heck... I don't know.

definately not a clown I'm leaning towards hyphan. you could narrow down by size could be L066, L400, L401, L411, L333 so many when it comes to the black and whites and look so much alike so how big is it

I'd say it's a stunted (oversized eye), male, captive-bred

Aphanotorulus

doesn't have this colour pattern, has a lower head and isn't patterned on the upper cheek and AFAIK, isn't in Oz.
