Hi all
I acquired these guys recently from a fish room closing, seller said he thinks they're L201s and the 3 smaller could be offspring from the adult pair - but he got them & other plecos in a trade & doesn't actually know. Sadly I lost the adult female despite medication, as they had a pretty bad bacterial infection these 4 recovered from it, although some still need really fattening up.
Question is, are they 201s? After reading on here, I thought they were, but i saw genuine 201s in a local specialist shop this afternoon, and comparing (bad) pics i'd managed to get in their QT tank, the shops 201s seemed to have smaller spots and flatter heads, making me think mine are contradens... Stupidly I didn't take pictures to compare when I got home, because looking at them again, I'm still unsure.
I took some decent pics of them tonight, any help is greatly appreciated, 201s, contradens, or other?
Tried to get pics from all angles, and showing their mouths.
Atleast 1 seems "flatter" than the others, possibly 2 of them.
Big fella/BF is the adult "male"
No fin/NF - juvie missing its adipose fin
Juvie1/J1 - very bent pectorals & skinny
Juvie2/J2
Spotted - 201, contradens, other?

Just updating for anyone who might be asking similar over their own fish in future - I found someone who bred both 201s & contradens, they have confirmed mine are 201s
