Post by amiidae »

Cetopsis candiru are fine together but what abt mixing with other Cetopsis sp. like C. orinoco?

Anyone with hands-on experience?

I have right now C. candiru of about 17-18 cm housed together with C. parma of about 17-18 cm. Both are together for more than 1.5 years and so far no problems. Each hides under their own one half of the big flower pot most of the time. Very rarely, usually when disturbed, they hide under the same cover but for the short time only. For a while two smaller C. parma of about 11-12 cm were in the same tank without any accidents. (Moved them to a different tank because of space limitations: one cave - one Cetopsis).

Is Cetopsis orinoco a good companion for small Auchenipterids and small tetras?
Or will they end up as food?

if they can catch it they will eat it. I find slow-moving fishes are at high risk.
