New book in Pims can now be ordered
It's here! The Pims book has over 40 genera and over 120 species and forms represented in beautiful photos. Information on the genera and species is provided.
It can now be ordered by using this link and registering. If you are a reseller and order more than ten copies, Andreas Tanke will switch your account type which will change the unit cost.
The books will be ready around 18 May 2021. The more orders we get, the higher the print run will be.
However, if you want one or more please act now because once they are printed that will be it, and you could miss out.
If you are a photo contributor you don't need to buy one. Please send me your postal details.
Please share where you can.

Re: New book in Pims can now be ordered
Excellent! I will order two copies, but I'm going to ask my Mum to order it as in the process of moving house and don't know where I will be when it's shipped! Any idea what the import duty may be outside the EU (e.g. shipping to UK)?
Great to see a new catfish book.
Cheers,
Jools

Re: New book in Pims can now be ordered
Hi Jools,
When I ordered it, I noticed the delivery was 16.50 EUR, up from 3 or 4 EUR before I put in my address, and was labelled as "Tax-exempt export delivery", I'm hopeful that means as VAT isn't charged on books there shouldn't be anything else to pay.
As I understand it for goods under the value of £135, VAT should/is assumed to have been collected at the point of sale, and there shouldn't be anything else to pay, although I have been caught out when buying records from the EU, having to pay a few pounds VAT, then the £8 Royal Mail 'handling fee' on top. That was a while ago and hopefully it works more smoothly now.
Taken from the Royal Mail site:
"VAT will be applied depending on the type and value of the goods. VAT on items under £135 (with the exception of gifts) will now be collected directly at the point of sale. "

Re: New book in Pims can now be ordered
The price includes 7% German VAT.
The postage is a separate charge and obviously each country may have its own duties at the border.

Thanks Steve, when mine arrives I'll report back what happened. Although it seems some things get through and some don't regardless of what should or shouldn't be charged!
