Tropical Fish TV Programs, where are they?

Where's all the tv shows on the fish of the amazon??? I am really disappointed about this? Such a huge industry and no shows on DSC. The last one I saw was like 7 years ago.

It is true that there aren't many of them. About half a year ago they were showing "Piranha: Wolves of the Water" or something with a title like that about (of course) piranhas. I do believe Jeff Corwin did one of his episodes in the Amazon, where he caught an arapaima to talk about it (it was MASSIVE). However, I haven't seen either recently. Jeff Corwin shows are rerunning right now, so there might be some luck seeing that episode.

I agree they should show most fish programs, everyday you see programs about lions, tigers,birds, etc etc etc but bearly anything about Fishes weather it's Saltwater or Freshwater.

Corwin's done a few things, not much, but they did have some south american knifefish in an episode, I believe the same one as the gigas... but on the whole, not much... there is apparently a series of videos about the rift lakes or just lake tanganyika by national geographic

This is what ive been asking myself forever! I saw the discovery channel's piranha ones, their electric eel one, and a few others but man there needs to be more! I love watching those shows. Gives me info about the fish i collect in their natural environment. I bought the silent video from oliver lucanus at http://www.belowwater.com. It is about fish from the rio orinico. It would be much better with some sound. I beleive another video with sound is coming out, if its not already out. I have also been trying to find the IMAX's amazon show, but it has never came out. Hopefully more shows will be produced on the amazon.

It's a drag.....
they have this tremendous episode of National Geographic about Lake Tanganyika ("Jewel of the Rift"), and besides cichlids, it's got a fair bit of catfish in them; electric cats, and shoaling Synodontis (and then all Syno-keepers can see how they behave in thew wild) and a truly stunning part about the broodparasitism of the Chuckoo cat.

Unfortunately that show is run in the US and perhaps Canada, but NGC doesn't run it here.

all we get is Steve Irwin, sharks, snakes, lions, more Steve Irwin, a bit of Jeff C, sharks, snakes, snakes, sharks, lions and more Steve Irwin . O, yes, and Rex Hunt too, but that's not the fish-show we want to see, is it?

One would think that because the tropical fish industry is HUGE that someone in the media would cater to it. Guess not, too much demand for crappy pointless show nowadays. But I will eagerly await the next amazon fish show.

Damn right!!!! I' agree with you all on this one.. The Tropical fish industy is massive in almost every continent in the world, evern more so than Marine, yet you only ever see marine fish on TV. The only time you see freshwater fish is when jamie Oliver or Ken Hom decide they want a nice bit of trout!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Bring on the amazon.
