Pleco Suggestions

Can anyone suggest an interesting smaller sized(5-8") pleco for my 75G tank?

Currently houses:
3x Hypselecara temporalis
1xGymnogeophagus Rhabdotus(planning on a small group if I can find more)
7x Silver dollars(not sure of species yet)

Bristlenoses are allways fun. Rubbernose/lips are also good. Do you have any thing in mind? like color? Clown plecs would work too. Those guys are all pretty common. If you want something a little rarer you could go with leopard frog plecs or even a zebra plec if your willing to spend the money

Yea, I was going more for color and a little rarity(nothing really expensive, $50 or under and not impossible to find).
I'd like if it did help a bit on the algae but thats more of a tie breaker than a requirement.

Would L200 work?
I love the looks of them!
Do they have any bad habits?
Are they ok in groups?

How rare are they? Anyone know a store that has them on hand often?

Hi,
L200 is a very beautifull pleco and you will see him even when the tank lights are on.The only bad habit he has is that he eats certain kind of plants like echinodorus.

Well after reading the article and previous topics, it seems my tank would be a bit two warm and wouldnt provide the proper oxygenation/current for L200.

So its back to the drawing board.
After cleaning the algae off the glass, rocks, and wood today I have decided to go with something that really goes to town on algae.
Would a group of Bristlenose fit?
I'd like one with some color or atleast an interesting pattern though.
Suggestions?

For Ancistrus, it's difficult to find something more interesting for a pattern than .

I asked at the LFS today and they havent ever seen it on any lists they get and i havent been able to locate them online...
So again back to the beggining!

What about a medusa Pleco?
How good of a job do they do on algae?
Do they tolerate eachother?
How many would it take to keep a 75G relatively free of algae?

Frybabies.com had A. claro a while back for $10 apiece (they were listed as LDA08). You might want to check with them to see if they've got any more or if they're bringing them in again.

The Hypselecara temporalis can get pretty large, 8-12 inches according to searches. I think I'd skip the LDA08, as they stay 3 inches or so, and probably wouldn't fare well with the big cichlids. Frybabies has a couple larger species of ancistrus at the moment though. One is listed as Ancistrus "spot", if I remember correctly, and she had a male well over 6 inches. The L59 (what she ordered them as) she has listed are actually an L183 type ancistrus that is quite attractive, and should work quite a bit better for your tank, IMO. They tend to like soft water, but the other fish you have do also, other than the silver dollars, that can adjust to a wide range.

I've ordered from Frybabies numerous times, and recommended them to many friends, who were always happy with both their fish and their service. I can't say enough about the fish I've received from them. Just my two cents worth. There are many types of ancistrus, I've never understood why they aren't more popular.
