C. Weitzmani Spawn
Finally got my group of 4 to spawn, these are the cories I WANTED to breed. Everyone else bred on their own lol
I set up a 20g tote with dark tannins, no lighting, an internal filter on high output for stronger current, added leaf litter, a couple plastic plants.
Conditioned them by feeding 2 times a day plus frequent feedings of live baby brine shrimp and frozen goodies.
Did just one water change and the next day ive got eggs! I will be keeping some of them to add to the adult shoal, as I've wanted a larger group

Re: C. Weitzmani Spawn
I collected 11. I want to see if they may lay more over the next few days or if they ate most of them while I was sleeping overnight lol
This was my set up i used for breeding. Just a simple tote, with a filter, sand, driftwood shelter, oak leaves, and 3 plastic plants.
This was yesterday before they spawned. Note the boys chasing the female

Re: C. Weitzmani Spawn
They've begun to hatch!!
Theyre so much bigger than aeneus and trilineatus hatchlings once first hatched!

Re: C. Weitzmani Spawn
While the parents spawn no problem, the eggs either don't hatch or the fry that do hatch don't make it past 2 days old.
Ive given the parents a break for now, gonna maybe try again with RO water in the future.
My water is soft, but maybe not soft enough? Its one of the last things I haven't tried yet

Re: C. Weitzmani Spawn
Awesome! I am thinking of getting a small group of 6 or 7 from Dan's fish over at Get Gills too. These corydoras look great and they seem to be hardy when they are bred in captivity. I like that they prefer a bit cooler water as I keep all my big fat pearlscale goldfish at 72 F in their 40 breeder tanks so once these cories are done with Q, they can go live in one of my 40 gal breeder tank with lots of algae and big friendly goldfish friends. Cool fish!
