I just purchased 6 juvenile S. multipunctatus. They're currently between 1-1.5" (25-38 mm) long. I know they prefer meatier foods, but I was hoping some of you could share what you feed your multis. I want to give these guys the best diet I can.
Thanks

synodontis multipunctatus is an omnivore, with a leaning towards meatier foods.
Such tiny Syno's are best fed with good quality small foods. Best lay off the huge quantities of bloodworms/mysis/krill etc till they're a bit bigger. Small bits won't hurt, but be aware of the dangers of overfeeding with food like that (overfeeding is a danger anyhow, but IMO too much bloodworms can do more harm than, say; too much cyclops or so)
good food for your babies would be daphnia, cyclops, fresh hatched artemia-nauplii (brine shrimp larvae), good quality crumbled flake; the tropical mixed kind.
A bit of black mosquitolarvae won't hurt them, neither would be tabs of both spirulina or usual tabs; NOT granules!! It should be sinking -or sticking to the glass type- tabs that are way too big to be swallowed; they have to nibble from them.
Syno's of all species; sizes and ages go nuts on stuff like that; I've seen all species go wild on a spirulina-tab sticking to the window
