Mulitple BGK in one tank??

Post by saylaveev »

Hi,

I'm wondering if I could have multiple BGK in a 90 gal.

Will they fight? personal experiences if they grow up from a small size together??

I have seen multiple in a tank at vancouver aquarium.... so I don't know..

Probably not. Given the size they can reach (about 20"), and the fact that gymontids usually require enough space to mark as their own, I'd say a 90-gallon is too small to house more than one comfortably.

Try a group of Eigenmannia, the Green Knifefish. These are far more of a social species and are a very under-appreciated graceful fish which should do fine in that lovely soft water I imagine you have over there...

Thanks for the thoughts.

We haven't seen a green ghost knife in these parts, so I can't say much about that.

My tank does have soft water, and a pH of about 8.0. Why I'm not sure, but we do.

I'll see if my store could get hold of a green gk. Thanks again.
