Injured Gold Nugget...

Post by Meganfitz »

Okay, I was snapping pics of my tank, and noticed my GN was stuck in the bottom of this plastic plant, between the "stems" (it's kind of like a bush) so I touched him to see if he'd dart away, and he wasn't moving. I carefully removed him from the plant, let him go in the tank and he floated to the bottom, but he IS alive. I put him in a 10g QT with a dose of melafix and a tbs of salt and some stress coat and turned off the light. I've been checking on him periodically and he has been on his back twice so I flipped him over, now he is face down but seems to be twitching. Is there anything else I can do? Here is what he looks like right now...

I dont really know Meg. Hate to say it but sounds as if he may be dieing. He doesnt seem to bad in the pick except for his fins. Is he normally darker than that? You started off well by moving him and starting a treatment. Hope he gets better!! How old is he?

He died  I don't know how old he was, I've had him for about 2 months, he was only about 3 inches long. He is normally MUCH darker, here is a pic of him from a few days ago:

Rest in Peace, little buddy.
