Creating flow next to a Pleco Cave

I have tried to find good ways to make flow next to the pleco cave openings. The main idea was that I didn't want to use a wavemaker or a powerhead. I found that if you put an airstone in between two caves and put a ceramic tile on top of the caves at a slight angle you get a good flow right by the cave opening.
If you have tried this method please leave a comment on how it went. I am still just learning if this method is good. I will make a few comments on this setup than I see a bit more on how my plecos will react spawning wise to this setup.

High current isn't needed to keep or breed most plecs..... high oxygen levels in the water is needed IMO. Air driven sponge filters are a good way to not only filter your tank but also make sure there is plenty of oxygen in the water.

That is one point of using an airstone as it gives high oxygenation and flow at the same town.

I think the point was the the O2 goes into the water between the waters surface and the air. The bubbles you see going up don't really add anything while rising.

Rippling the waters surface should provide you plenty of O2 in the tank.
