Dark discolouration on an L128

Post by DBam »

Noticed one of my small L128 has some dark blotches on it. Haven't seen this pattern on them before, even the adult group I grew and kept for years. Wondering if anyone has observed this before. Thanks.

Hi, I've kept a few L128 over several years, small and large. But not noticed darker blotches before, I have had one of my small fish go much lighter for a week or so, then change back to normal very quickly.

I wouldn't be too worried, just keep an eye on it and report back if it changes.

Good luck with the L128, they are a great fish.

Thanks, things seem to be looking more normal again now. Just 50% waterchanged and kept up with feeding. It did also go much lighter for about 2 or 3 days, but that seems to have gone away for now as well.

Thanks for reporting back. That's only the third report I've heard of them becoming much lighter, when I noticed it happening to one of my young I was concerned, but it doesn't seem to be anything to worry about.

Good luck with them!
