Confused by L200
Researching L200 I discovered that there are two such species with this designation, Hemiancistrus subviridis AND Baryancistrus demantoides. Adding further to my confusion is that I found a fish offered for sale as L200A. Anyone care to shed some light on this conundrum ?

Re: Confused by L200
The ID section of the species profile for both species provides more detail on this. L200a is, AFAIK, someone just making up a name for marketing reasons.
Hope that helps,

Re: Confused by L200
Hi,
"Hemiancistrus subviridis" > "normal" green phantom (L200)
"Baryancistrus demantoides" > the "highfin" variant (L200"A")
Regards
Thomas

Re: Confused by L200
Thanks Thomas, do you know who introduced the term L200"A"?
Cheers,

Re: Confused by L200
Unfortunately I don't.
But it's, as you said, some kind of marketing or "differentiation" for sales.

Thomas

Re: Confused by L200
Many thanks Jools and Thomas for weighing in. The ID section of the species profile has useful information regarding the differences between H. subviridus and B. demantoides and incidentally it's where I discovered that both are listed as L200. Using L200A for demantoides helps distinguish between the two fish but as soon as we all begin referring to them by their formally described names the better off we will all be.
