Farlowella Platorynchus?

Hey,

yesterday I found these 3 big farlowellas at my lfs. Had to take them home.

Sadly I have little experience with farlowella sp.

Got a hint that these might be platorynchus.

They all have a TL of 22cm.

two of them seem to have the right scale plate pattern on their belly for platorynchus:

But number 3 is a little different in the scale plates:

Is this common variation within a species or does it indicate a different species?

Oh man, thank you very much... I'm reading and reading... I'm no biologist though. Not used to these papers
Well I can tell, 2 are very likely platorynchus or at least within the same family as platorynchus. The third one looks so similiar. But he has the thrid row of abdominal scutes and the nose seems to be a little thinner. But that's about all I can see. Could use someone to tell me what I need to look out for or meassure here. Thanks

Hi Johannes,

Look again at your Farlowellas that have an incomplete middle row of abdominal scutes, if they have two or more middle scutes in front of the pelvic fins. That arrangement matches
