Help with new king tiger pl*cos
Help with new king tiger pl*cos
Ok the lfs got me in what was supposed to be a pair of queen arobesque pl*cos but now I have them home they appear to be king tiger/scribble pl*cos. One is lighter and striped like the normal king tiger and one is darker and seems almost spotted rather than striped, I have no idea if they are actually a pair, probably not.Anyhoo thats not the least of my worries, the darker one seems quite hollow bellied(the lighter one was on the front glass in the shop and its belly seemed full so I just assumed the other would be the same...stupid me ).They are both in alone in a 10gal quarentine tank and I have treated with some levismole in case they are infested with worms.
Is there anything else I should be doing, I have offered a few frozen bloodworms but they are still aclimatising so they have ignored them.I added a little melafix(I just kinda paniced since I dont want to lose them).I was planning on keeping them(if they were QA's)in my 30gal planted tank(along with my mango) but now I know they are king tigers and from what I read are more robust could I get away with keeping them in my 80gal cichlid tank?It already contains a chocolate zebra, prince tiger(something like that), vampire and gold nugget and they all get on fine with the med sized cichlids(sev, BP's, firemouth etc).
Any help would be much appreciated.
Cheers!!

Panicking and dumping medicine into your tank before the fish are even acclimated is never a good idea, IMO. I would let them get used to your water, and see if the thinner one will eat if there's nothing in the tank harassing him. Don't treat the fish before you even see if their behavior is bad, especially not by mixing different types of medicines. Herbal based or not, different chemicals do have different interactions. It's just not a good idea.
