L114 biotope

Post by pan »

Hi all,
I am setting up a bigger tank for my L114 group, and i ' like to find some infos and pics/videos from their biotope, Rio Demini especially. I 've made some search, but i didn't found something helpfull so far. They are described as black water fish, but i 've heard opinions that say that they are clear water fish. If somebody could throw some light...
Greetings, Chris.

Hi Chris,

There's a detailed account of the rio Demini in Wels Atlas I (Evers and Seidel, 2005). I recommend that book thoroughly if can get hold of it. If not, here is that section on the Demini:

Good Info
I have 6 week old fry (L-600). They huddle in a bunch around small tank décor. What foods would be best for growing them out?

Here is a picture of the tank i managed to make after all. It's a 300 ltrs tank supported by a EHEIM professionel 3e 700. It houses 3 L114, 30 cardinal tetra and 8 ottos. I managed to make vertical crevicies with the pieces of wood along with use of some caves, and cover the open spaces with anubias and java fern. It seems to work fine so far. :)
