Help ID my catfish
Hi everyone,
Can someone please help ID my catfish. I recently brought a gorgeous catfish that I absolutely love. I was sold it as a snowball pleco but I know that it probably isn’t. I have had an ID on another site but was just wondering if I would get the same result here, I’ll let you all know if my answers match. Anyway, I hope someone can help.
Thanks in advance,
Hursty

Hi
Thats not a Snowball, which normally turns out as L 142, but Scobinancistrus aff. pariolispos, likely L 48. Is it coloured darker sometimes? On a dark gravel it will turn darker as well.

don't be mad that it is not a snowball because what you have is an awesome pleco. I actually would prefer him over the snowball.

Thanks for your help guys. I’m not mad at all, I think it’s a gorgeous fish. I got a slightly different answer in the other website but only very slightly, someone ID’d as scobinancistrus L368. But I think L48 is more accurate from what I can tell.

Hi
L 368 is a very similar species, but from what I can tell comparing mine with your specimen, it is not a L 368. Especially in state of stress colouration, it's hard to tell since both (and S. pariolispos as well) show a brownish base colouration and resemble each other very much.

Re: Help ID my catfish
Does anyone know how long this fish will take to reach full size?
