If the fish are packed well, they will be fine. Only bad thing that could happen is a cold storage room, but agencies shipping animals know about this as well.

Good luck!

Once a load of fishes was sent from the US to Europe, the day before thanksgiving. Something was wrong with the reservation, and the fishes had been in transit for 48 hours - the sender was not available, most likely he had dropped the fishes and went to family

Most - some 75 % of the fishes made it. I meself was unlucky, my bag seemed to contain 8 dead fishes. But, as I was prepared, I had 2 buckets with clean water ,and I put 4 in each. 4 fishes, in each bucket 2, swam after an hour, and when I got home, 3 hours later, I put the swimming fishes and the corpses into their tank - I did not want to admit the other 4 were dead.

The day after 2 corpses had swam away. It were Gymnogeophagus balzanii, a fish from clean lakes. I did not loose any of them, in fact they did not even get itch.

I'm writing this because a fish might seam to be dead, but it is not. Don't accept the idea of them being dead

Good to know! I must say that i don’t have any high hope, but time will show. Calling the postman tomorrow morning to make sure the first packaged they deliver is mine. That’s the one good “privelige” I got out of that one houer argument. Hopefully 8/8 will be alive.

I am counting on the sellers packing to be good, the only thing that concerns me is that heat packs only last about 40h give or take

Wow, congrats!!! You really have to compliment the seller for the good packaging and the mail service for storing them in a warm place.

20°C is plenty warm! I would have expected the water to be around 5°C by now or lower. After all it's winter in Norway, right?

My last shipment of plecos came in at 11°C. And that was with only 12h of shipping time. Fish were fine after I defrosted them xD

Good, for you (and for the fish too)! I've had this experience once with shipped corys, but I managed to track the fish down on the same day.

Enjoy your new fish,
Eric
