I managed to keep mine for 3 years and they never got over 10" I was told they are "dinks" but I found no other sources that corroborated that either. I went through some financial repercussions and had to move several times and couldn't put them in the large tank I had planned. I still have to 225 gal aquarium but no place to put it or anymore dinks. They stayed out side in a yard pond and a 300 gallon vat and either died during moves or were eaten by herons. I'd be glad give you any advice I can about their care but unless you have a really large tank to transfer them too as they grow even dinks need lots of space..
I grow swamp trees like bald cypress and water tupelo in aquariums similar to bonsai
