Disease of my blue Eye Panaque Suttoni

Post by M1ks1n0 »

Hi guys, anyone have experience of this disease? Is it just bad water or what? Friends told me just keep feeding and change water every 7 days up to 20 %
Or should i use something to help him?

Please can you tell us a bit more about your setup, tank size, maintenance regime, water parameters, water flow rate, what you're feeding, how long you've had the fish, etc.

Tank looks rrally nice but I'm surprised your not seeing other fish with problems. Your not changing nearly enough water.

Up the water changes by at least 50% a week. I would do several a week for a few weeks and see if that clears up your royal.

I suspect you made it a year without problems only because you have such good filtration. As Dis said, 50% weekly water changes for so many big fish would be a minimum. However, do not just immediately do one large water change. I would recommend changing 20% daily for the 5-7 days and then getting on a schedule of changing 50-60% weekly.

I would not add anything. You should start seeing improvement in a few days.

Yes increase water change. Also if you can keep the tank dark and add additional aeration like air stone.

Are any other fish impacted? This appears to be bacterial.

The symptom looks like what our local hobbyists called "Panaque plague".. for some reasons, L330 are immune to it.

Suspect it is due bacterial or viral but locally no success in treating. :(

See this thread for an old discussion in my local forum.
