Wotroi Cories

Post by blang »

I purchased some wotroi cories at a local petstore. I am looking to get some more but when I google the wotroi it comes up with two types.

corydoras melanistius or Corydoras brevirostris

Which one do I have?

Hi blang,

Corydoras wotroi is a synonym for . I believe your fish is brevirostris. C. brevirostris differs from by the fact that brevirostris has a vertical banded pattern on the caudal fin, which is also visible on the tail of your fish in the photo you provided. C melanistius has no pigment pattern on its tail.

Cheers, Eric
