Re: Ancistrus type
I guess that is possible, it just looks differnet. It is about 3 inches long and has nice spotting.

Re: Ancistrus type
No, I don't think it's a common BN: The spots are too homogenous in size, too linear in alignment, and the spotting pattern doesn't break up towards the caudal peduncle.
More photos from different angles, and also with fins flared, will be helpful.
Cheers, Eric

Agree with Eric, pretty sure it's not a common BN. A side view photo would definitely help.

I will try to get some additional photos, it is a store. No, I am not sure it is an ancistrus.

Re: Ancistrus type
After looking at the links provided on a computer (as opposed to my phone), I am pretty sure it is either:
https://www.planetcatfish.com/common/sp ... es_id=1454
or
https://www.planetcatfish.com/common/sp ... ies_id=662
I am leaning more towards L033; however, the store did bring in several unnamed red tailed plecos, so perhaps this is one without a red tail.

Re: Ancistrus type
I was leaning toward something like that but without a photo showing the caudal fin and shape of the snout, it is hard to make a suggestion. If it came in with the Lasiancistrus, it could be a by-catch that got included if wild caught. Difficult if in the store, but more photos would definitely help narrow down an ID. But as before, and as Eric said, the spots are too uniform and IMO the body colour wrong for any ancistrus I've seen.

Re: Ancistrus type
I am pretty sure it isn't . THere are 0 hues of red in the tail in the picture, and from the ones i have kept in the past, the red coloration was very very clear.
It could possibly be an un-described species, but as Martin has said, more pictures will help.

It could be.
OP'er .. hurry with the pictures so we don't keep finding more fish it could be.
I think it could be a very very small aquatic llama.
