Air Pump for Fish Room
Hey guys,
I was thinking about getting a decent sized air pump to supply my fish room but was not sure what is out there.
I am not educated in what air flow I would need, but more the better as I'd want the capacity to expand if need be. So what the pump will have to keep up to is 15 to 20 tanks with a max water depth of 18" with the main trunk line being roughly 40 to 50 feet. Of course the most quite pump would be ideal seeing as it is in my basement.
Thanks for the help and let me know if I need to provide more info to help the selection process.

Re: Air Pump for Fish Room
As you are in Canada, take a look at Jehmco, their smallest linear piston pump (LPH26) looks like it would meet all of your requirements. They offer several sizes if you wanted to get a larger pump for future expansion, however you may need to bleed some air off through an open valve in the system until you utilise more of the capacity.
A linear piston pump is quieter than the more common diaphragm pump that many people would have to run a couple air stones or filters, the downside is they cost more to purchase initially.
You can give them a call to discuss your requirements, they are very helpful over the phone, I have ordered from them a couple times, and the only reason I've not bought one of their pumps is that I live in the UK and the voltage is different.
There are several videos on you tube of people setting up fish room air systems with this type of pump, if you wanted something visual to help you plan.

You can also look at ALITA.
I have a AL-40 and I love it. It's been running for a couple years (4 maybe ?), no problem so far, quiet and give as much air as the first day !

Try Hiblow pumps.
These are fantastic pumps. Powerful, reliable and quiet.
Many SGP hobbyists use them & most of our LFS use them.
