Catfish (Pleco/Synodontis) compatibly Question???
Obtained a group of 7 L204 Flash plecos today, 1 in QT, as from a different source. 6 are in a 4' x 2' x 15" tank, the other to be added after QT. In another tank I have 2 Synodontis Brichardi. The L204 tank has lots of flow at lower levels from two Eheim stream on pumps and lots of surface moment. Tank is packed with caves and wood branches. I'm thinking of merging the two tanks temporarily. Flash plecos aren't too territorial, at the moment, but the two Synos are towards each other. My concern is if I put them in one tank together will they get on because of the close similarities in appearance, ie would the plecos and synos compete with eachother over territories and cause potential conflict. Attached pics of fish and tank.
Thanks Teresa

Think they'll be fine, they both like current and there is enough furniture to help them stay apart.

Thanks Jools thought it would be ok as for tank conditions, wasn't too sure about compatibility.

Re: Catfish (Pleco/Synodontis) compatibly Question???
I've not tried mixing my male L204 with my trio of Synodontis brichardi to date, but he has played nicely with...
1 Synodontis congicus
2 Microsynodontis sp.1
1 Atya gabonensis
11 Ambastaia sidthimunki
10 Barbus fasciolatus
12 Synodontis nigriventris
25 Pareutropius mandevillei
8 Alestopetersius sp.1
6 Phenacogrammus interruptus
1 (Hageni?) halfbeak male
(last survivor of a group) Danio frankei
For the last ~2.5 years. At the beginning, I was most concerned about how he would be with my lovely luckily acquired S. congicus, who was ordered from Wildwoods as a Synodontis notatus... If I knew what I was getting, I would have ordered 6+, but knowing me the others would all turn into ~22cm SL real S. notatus like my one bought in person soon after! My congicus is very shy for his size, I had to pull out my newest brichardi within seconds a few years ago, but my congicus and L204 have never showed any aggression to my knowledge.

Can try it but if there appears to be any problems can move the synos out, saying that will be interesting trying to catch them in that tank!
