Have you seen this at l-welse.com? Hypostomus sp. "Le Kourou". On that page, it states, "probably identical to Hypostomus plecostomus." (I'm translating from German)
Cheers, Eric

Re: Hypostomus Le Kourou
Hi,
as I stated at l-welse.com IMHO there is no doubt that this is the population of H. plecostomus that was confirmed by Weber at al. (2012) to belong to this species. I have caught many specimen of H. plecostomus in Suriname and FG and I don't see any relevant difference.
Cheers,

Re: Hypostomus Le Kourou
Hi Ken,
yes, I think this is also a local form of H. plecostomus.
It's still within the reported distribution range of this species.
Juveniles of H. plecostomus of different locations and the same size look very similar.
However, the pictures in the DATZ only show a juvenile specimen (TL 9 cm), so it's difficult to say for sure if you can safely differentiate different species of Hypostomus at this size.
