Weird sport from Tanganyika

Looking for opinions on this one, contaminent in with wild caught group of Synodontis lucipinnis and S. petricola. there is spotting, faint dark spots at times.

I thought dhonti had more prominent spotting and a lighter colored background. I am no expert but I just heard Anthony Tu speak this weekend on synodontis of tanganyika and the picture of dhonti he used had much different coloration than the photo above.

They are so rare no can be completely sure of what they exactly look like, there could be variations, hybridizations, etc. E.g. not all s. petricola or lucippinis, or multipunctaus have the exact same pattern.

No expert, but if it's a recent purchase/find could just be it needs time to settle in colour up ect...

From here it looks like a Syno. polli color morph. a pollimorph! haha!! I crack me up. A Synodontis polli without pigmentation aggregation... Or possibly a hybrid.

Dhonti is only known from a single specimen which was used to describe the species & colouration is described from the preserved specimen - this is the closest I've seen & would be my thought on what it is

It reminds me of this fish which I have been told is an old polli.

Hi, yes I can take more photos. It has been residing in a tank of mixed Tanganyikans, I am quite sure it is a polli, it interacts with the other polli and has darkened considerably.
