Featherfin update
About a year and a half ago this community helped me ID my smallish Catfish. It was sold as Nigriventris, but was actually an Eupterus. I thought I'd share a recent pic of him/her inspecting the cork bark I just added.

Re: Featherfin update
Nice mix of fish, Pareutropius buffei; Phenacogrammus interruptus; Synodontis euptera.
How are the Pareutropius coping with the Featherfin, as in are they stressed?
Any thoughts and opportunities of increasing the tetra and social catfish groups?

Dreaming of a full-on 5x2x2 Zaire River rapids biotope...

Thanks I have 5 synodontis Nigriventris in there too. These guys were responsible for getting me hooked on Catfish to begin with.N0body Of The Goat wrote:Nice mix of fish, Pareutropius buffei; Phenacogrammus interruptus; Synodontis euptera.
As far as I can tell they are more then fine. The featherfin doesn't really bug anyone and the buffei are always swimming in the open. How are the Pareutropius coping with the Featherfin, as in are they stressed?
Yes I'd love to increase numbers but I'm currently over stocked as is. In about six months I hope to upgrade this 46 gallon to a 120 gallon West African biotope. At which point I'll be looking at more buffei, and the addition of some new species.Any thoughts and opportunities of increasing the tetra and social catfish groups?

Eye candy of a tank, OP!
That's an astonishing and rare achievement, Marvin!
Perhaps your post is better suited for this thread dedicated to the longest-kept eupterus http://www.planetcatfish.com/forum/view ... s+lifespan

Re: Featherfin update
IME eupterus get a bit of a bad rap. I've yet to have one that is a bully in any sense of the word. Heck, my past adults and current juvie even get along with shrimp with no apparent problem as long as he/she is well fed
