Re: Synos for sale or trade.
I've got one lonely adult that I suspect is female, but I don't know. Paid $10 for it as a 3cm juvie from PetSmart, about 4 years ago. Now approximately 7-8cm SL and as plump as can be, maybe 9-10cm TL.
Here's some pics taken today.
I'm not looking to trade for more synos or your L241 (it'll get too big for me), but I'll sell it to you if you want it. If interested, PM me.
Cheers, Eric

Re: Synos for sale or trade.
You know, day-to-day I never see this cat. Wasn't even sure it was still alive until I caught it today in a cave. But now that I see it, it sure is pretty. Kinda wish I had more, so it would school and show off its colors more often. But truth is, it doesn't really belong in a tank full of corys and banjos, which is where it lives now.
So rehoming it is probably the kindest thing I can do for it.

Re: Synos for sale or trade.
Really? Dang... I've never tried sexing a syno before, and I didn't want to risk hurting it or getting stuck by its spines. I was hoping that the rotund belly meant it is a female. If you're correct, then I guess this won't be what @naturalart wants. Fortunately, he and I live only about an hour apart, so if he wants to inspect the fish, that's easy enough to arrange.Birger wrote:I suspect this to be a male.

Hey Eric, yes, lets check it out. I can understand why birger is saying its a male. But there is a chance it could be a she. If you want to bring it on the 3/4th I would love to check it out.

Re: Synos for sale or trade.
I am looking at the two side-view pictures; there appears to be a narrow small spine at the tip of the genital papilla. I'm guessing that it is this feature which is leading Birger and you to the deduction that this fish is probably male.
I'd be happy to bag it up and bring it with me to the SAS meeting (their mega-auction) in March. If you want it, I'll sell it to you. If you don't want it, i may put it into the auction.
See you there! . Cheers, Eric
