New Trachycorystes trachycorystes
I just brought home a 5" Trachycorystes. Do you think it would be alright in a 30 gallon tank with some C. robustus for a few weeks. The robustus are huge I don't think they would be swallowed.

I didn't take a chance. Set up a 30 breeder for a temporary home. My new acquisition seems happy.

Good call Mark
You would not want one of them getting stuck in its throat.

I've just got my first one too from Ray Chan of Amazing Fish, CA. It's ~6". Could not resist when I saw it on the stock list. Very peculiar, unusual, and striking fish. Mine resides for now with a 6" Cephalosilurus apurensis / nigricaudus and 1' pike cichlid in a 240 gal.
