new here, just hatched cory

Post by rita1 »

hello everyone, my first posting and it's my first time that my corys has laid eggs. :d
all very exciting, they all hatched about 20 and now what do i do.
i have some frozen cyclops will this be ok to give them. i have the fry in a tupperware floating in the main tank with an airstone, i am changing the water twice a day, with the main tank water.
i am worried that i will not be able to raise the fry, i don't want to loose them. any help would be great.

Hi Rita1,

First, welcome to PlanetCatfish!

Congratulations on your new cory eggs. By coincidence, another member is currently asking some questions about raising cory eggs too. You can read their questions and answers here: http://www.planetcatfish.com/forum/view ... =2&t=42416.

If you'd like more general information about raising corys, please read this forum post: http://www.planetcatfish.com/forum/view ... f=6&t=8726. You can also search the forums. For example here are the results of a search for the keywords "feeding cory fry eggs": http://www.planetcatfish.com/forum/sear ... mit=Search

What type of corys do you have?

Good luck, and have fun.

Cheers, Eric

They may have been triggered to spawn because of the change to the new tank. In my experience, once a group of fish start breeding, they usually will continue to breed for at least a few more times in the near future. So keep your eyes open for more eggs in the next few days and weeks. :-BD

Try some of the foods mentioned in the links posted earlier in this thread. I described my favorite fry first food, but I think there are a dozen other wonderful choices to pick from if you read those threads. I suppose you can start with whatever you have access to.
