Can you please add a "Search Amazon.com" window to the page which tells people how to shop Amazon and give credit to PC?

Hi Jools,

Maybe I don't know how Amazon.com works, but I wish to make a purchase and I want to get it credited back to PlanetCatfish. My concern is that as I navigate the Amazon.com pages, I get the impression that the PlanetCatfish referral source is lost before I buy the product.

So here's what's happening: I start at the PC page, http://www.planetcatfish.com/general/ge ... +Amazon%3F. I click on the link to shop at Amazon.com in the USA (here). This takes me to the Amazon.com home page, and I can clearly see the reference to PlanetCatfish incorporated into the referring URL. So far, so good.

Then I type the name of the product I want to buy into the Amazon search window, and when the results come up, they lead me to the product, but now the PlanetCatfish reference is lost from the URL. And there's the concern. If I add that product to my cart and proceed to checkout, has the PlanetCatfish referral been lost? Or is it still retained and credited when I buy the item? That's what I don't know about how Amazon.com operates.

Now, if the referral does not need to persist in the URL after I jump from PlanetCatfish to Amazon, then all of this is mute.

But if the referral is lost, I'm wondering if you can add a search window to the PlanetCatfish page, which allows us to type in the name of a specific item in the search window, and when we hit the enter/return key, the resulting URL is the Amazon search result for that product (presumably the specific product page for that item) WITH the PlanetCatfish referral incorporated into the URL?

Honestly, I expect you to say that the PlanetCatfish referral persists even if it's not visible in the URL, so no action is necessary other than for me to restart the transaction in order to start a new session. Live and learn, that's what I was taught.

Thanks, Eric
