Need help with a new L239 (Blue Finned Panaque)

I recently purchased a 3" Blue Finned Panaque, wild caught. He arrived in perfect condition; his fins were perfect, not even the slightest tear, healthy, alert, etc.

I've had him for 3 days now and I'm noticing a loss of color on him in splotches.

I'm not sure if it's stress related. I'm going to test my water tomorrow to see if something might be up. He is in a 75G, lots of live plants and driftwood, kept around 79 degrees Fahrenheit.

I have noticed hat he digs under slightly to get into the cave area of an ornament that he really likes, maybe he hurt himself?

Otherwise I'm hoping for either feedback, or reassurance.

Well, I know we started a discussion in the Pleco forum about Bristlenose plecos doing the "color blotch" thing...maybe your pleco is doing the same?

My two female bristlenose go from dark to blotchy quite frequently. I've noticed my Flounder pleco seems to go from black and white to gray and white as well.

I don't think my well fed babies are "stressed", it just seems to happen. I would check out the thread in the other forum and of course wait for one of our more expert keepers to weigh in with their advoce (or move this thread to the Pleco forum?)...

Try to observe if there will be significant changes in its behaviour such as eating and resting. Have seen this loss of colouration happen before in other Baryancistrus and it didn't end up well.

I have a breeding group of Beginni's. I found that weaker fish are sensitive to fungus.
First make sure your water is absolutely perfect, lot's of clean water and a good working filter. Stability is very important.
If nothing works help the fish with an anti fungus treatment.
