I've been using the Cat-eLog for months and finally decided to join the forum, too.
I'm Leah, I'm 45, and I've helped my brother with fishkeeping for 20 years, and my son for 10, but didn't get my own tank until about 5 months ago. I had never even heard of corydoras before then, but now I LOVE them and have five - two trilineatus, one agassizi, one julii and one paleatus. Unfortunately, for some reason, in my area the only readily avaible cories are the bronzes and albinos, which are not my favorites, so I get what I can, which, except for the three-lines, has always meant one. Fortunately, they do school despite being seperate species. I had a little arcuatus, too, but he died after a week. I am wanting more arcuatus and some pandas, but they are very elusive in this area.
My brother has a 20 year old pleco, so I've known about them for years, and of course I had to get some! I have a Peckoltia vittata, one that was sold as a "rubberlip" with no scientific name, but by comparing the pictures in the Cat-eLog, I think it's a Chaetostoma (sp2). My son has a little rescue pleco that we have been completely unable to identify.
And last, but not least, I have a Synodontis nigriventris, who is lonely without friends, so I'm hoping to find more soon. I see them often at WalMart, but there is usually no one around to net them for me. My son joked that next time we were there, he'd net a couple for me! Haha!
Anyway, my other passion is my OTHER cats, the furred kind, thus my log-in name.
Anyway, that's me! I hope I learn alot more about these winkers and blinkers while I'm here!
