Congrats on your new verrucosus, Yann! The long search is over.
In 2009, I decided to try banjo cats and asked the LFS to get B. verrucosus. They said they could. A few weeks later I got the call and went in to find something entirely different! But I bought them anyway, being charmed by the little fellows. Taking them home as B. coracoideus, they were later ID'd here on PC as
.
Three years later I saw some banjos in a different LFS, actually a strictly saltwater shop, labeled "cool catfish from South America." "Cool" meaning desirable, not cool water! So, I bought two and had them ID'd here as
.
A few months ago I picked up two more interesting looking banjo catfish from still another LFS. They are obviously bunocephalus but what species? The ID thread is here:

Lately, my banjo catfish are coming out more although they still remain mostly buried. I don't mind. The fun of owning them is knowing they are buried in there somewhere!
If I could find other members of Aspredinidae which remain small and are something different from what I've got already, I'd get them.
