Weird Trichomycterid & Woodcat

Post by KungFish »

I found this odd trichomycterid catfish on a peruvian exporter's Facebook page, does anyone know what it is?

Also, is this centromochlus concolor? Or tatia simplex?

The trichomycterid might be Ituglanis ina, but I'm not 100% sure.

Forgot to mention that the simplex is not from them, only the ituglanis.

Thank you.

Unfortunately, much as I would also like it to be, the tatia simplex is not from an exporter. It is from a page covering an expedition to the Rio Xingu. :( It's a shame, they would go well with your Centromochlus concolor.

Okay.
I wasn't aware of a namechange.
But knowing or seeing the difference between Centromochlus and/or tatia is way beyond my knowledge.

According to fishbase it is Centromochlus simplex. Huh. PC entry needs to be changed then.

Why? Because Fishbase is more "right"?

I thought the Tatia simplex (and, T. musaica) were incertae sedis and so we remained with the more conservative position of them staying put? Have I missed something more recent than this?
