Reynoldsi morph or new cory?

Post by cjerrom »

I have gotten a batch of Reynoldsi about 2.5 months ago when someone wanted a video of the fish and noticed that I had about 6-12 black faced Reynoldsi in this group of 40. Any thoughts on what it is? This looks like the standard Reynoldsi.

Compared to the CLOG photos of C. reynoldsi, your Corys seem to have very long snouts. Is that true?

Impossible only means that somebody hasn't done it correctly yet.

By the way, even the fish that you call a "standard" reynoldsi (in the top photo) has the extended snout. Perhaps those are cw012 too?

Hi,

yes, sure it is the same species, I don't see any C. reynoldsi in the pics !
Much much more important than colour pattern is always the body shape.
Single specimen can always have some variations...

I just sent Karsten videos of these.
I have had them for over 6 months and they are starting to breed already. I will ask for more and send pics as they are readily available from Colombia.

Wow, congratulations. When you get new fish, you don't mess around! { Or they DO, depending on your grammar! ;-) }

Cheers,

Just ordered 40 more of these longnose and they are the exact same in looks but then I ordered 40 off my other guy in Colombia and he is sending a rounder nosed version like the pics on Planet Catfish.
