Bristlenose are so much simpler. L333 or L066?

Hello fellow catfishers im taking the leap from peppermints and bristlenose to some more complicated species. Before putting in the effort just wanted to check my L333 are actually L333 and not L066 also a guess on the sexes would be helpful thanks.

Could you explain what this is based on? You have to take into account that the vary quite a bit in size.

Photo marked "catfish 4" is definitely neither species, based on head shape and pattern, but I wouldn't begin to venture a guess as to the species.

Not an expert, simply my opinion. Of course I did consider the difference in size! But size is not the only factor, if I may say. I also considered the difference in their pattern and colouration. As you can see, one specie has fine-line pattern with white-like colouration. While another has denser lines with yellowish colouration. Then, another has what appears to be broken-line patterns with light colouration. Based on my observation, I believe there's about three species in this group. Which ones specifically? I don't have a conclusion yet, considering the variety of Hypans with this similar-looking and confusing pattern.
Perhaps you can enlighten the rest of us with your expert opinion.

I think you may have 2 species. All but one look like L333 to me.
Still, given that you live in Australia and the ease of breeding of L333, it seems most likely that all your fish are L333's.
I found L333 to be as over productive as common Bushynose Plecos
I say that because you get fewer wild imports than much of the rest of the world and because L333 are such an easily bred and extremely fecund Hypancistrus sp. They probably predominate among the locally available tank raised Hypancistrus species downunder.
Consider also the fact that L333 have begun to produce albinos. It shouldn't be a surprise that you are finding so much variation among the already very variably marked L333's. The Australian L333 gene pool is likely very small compared to that among the TR stock raised throughout the USA. This could lead to the appearance of many regional phenotypes.

Thanks all especially apistomaster i think your proberly right there. The only ones that i have heard of getting confused are l066 and l333. Have seen those albino ones. I do like these fish and will give them a go but i guess as worth most fish down under certainty on origins and gene pool are skeptical at best. Next year o think they are banning pretty much all fish imports so we will not get much new.

Janne in Brazil sells L333, L333 B/W(black and whites which have a tendency to be more white based), as well as 401 - Gurupa (black bodies), and yellow morphs as well.
