Are cory catfish edible!??

Post by Elle »

Ok. My brother, Lee, is phsyco. He wants to know if corys, like armored cats and spotted cats are edible. Or if they are toxic or bad tasting. He is REALLY wierd. He is 10 years old, so maybe its a 'stage' kind of a thing. Still, he (and I) want to know. I hope he doesn't eat my fish!!

Edible Corys?

Post by spiny »

Deep fried in peanut oil, with mayonnaise! Crunchy like chips! Nooo, kidding. Never tried friends for dinner..

If you consider bones and spiky fins edible, have a go. :-X I have not heard of toxic flesh or something, but maybe someone else knows?!

I dare say Cory's are edible, ask any self respecting Hoplias, but what energy you would get from the flesh would be far exceded by the energy used to in geting it.

*heh* My brother is wierd. I gave him the nickname 'Knives'. He hates it. I don't know why.... To anyone who never watches Trigun (anime), Knives is Vash's evil, bloodthirsty, phsyco (sp?) brother. Lee is, oddly enough, almost like Knives. Similar hair, face,..... *heh* and attitude. That is why I call him that. He is wierd. Just wanted to say that. If you know anymore info on this...um....subject, could you tell me? Thanks much!

Most catfish are delicious, and I bet you you've eaten it before. They are farmed in large numbers for food here in the US.

I dare say that anything can be eaten. Think of the man who ate an aeroplane. . Then a cory can´t be the worst thing. A bit small though, but perhaps delicious.

What about a big, fat, squishy overweight catfish? None of my fish are fat, really, but they are squishy! :P Not squishy enough to be eaten, I hope... Lee now just watches the catfish and makes a strange squeal thing. He also does that when he sees something cute. But, he asked me if Corys are edible again. I just... I just don't want to come home and see my catfish in a frying pan!!! NO!!!

Poor kitters! *sets up traps around fish tank*...

You'd need an awesome buzz to think of licking a fish's belly.
