Rio Xingu, a few pictures
Hi together,
just a few pictures from the last day, more to come within the next weeks.
The number of B. xanthellus we collected during one day is enormous, more than 300 pieces in 8 hours.

Re: Rio Xingu, a few pictures
Thanks everyone. Is it only on my screen or are the pictures cutted on the right side?
I haven't been in the right places yet to find Panaque, but I will post pictures once I have them.

The pictures are truncated on the right when I view them with Safari mobile on iOS devices, but not when I view them with regular Safari on my Mac desktop.Acanthicus wrote:Is it only on my screen or are the pictures cutted on the right side?

Hi all,
If the pictures are truncated on the right you can "zoom out" on what ever browser your using until the whole picture shows.
cheers Darrel

Thats the famous Volta Grande, a really impressive place and simply huge in dimensions.

From the looks of it you are having a wonderful trip!
Your scenic views are amazing and would be good models and inspiration for a Nature Aquarium layout.
Thanks for posting these fantastic photos!

Re: Rio Xingu, a few pictures
I have not seen any other place like Volta Grande, it should have been classified as a World Heritage Site for many years ago, maybe that could have saved this extremely beautiful place for the future.Daniel wrote:Thats the famous Volta Grande, a really impressive place and simply huge in dimensions.

Re: Rio Xingu, a few pictures
Absolutely stunning! Makes me sad this beautiful area is being destroyed as we speak. Does anyone know if the Volta Grande is already permanently closed or is there still a little bit of current?

Hi,
Volta Grande is totally normal until now and not harmed yet. The daming will start in december 2015.

Re: Rio Xingu, a few pictures
Indeed, imagine the fishermen after bringing me pariolispos, lovely Crenis, rare Spatuloricaria and then they saw me partying because of a common, grey fish nobody buys.

And that, Daniel, is what separates the catfish hardcore from the wannabes. Especially if you had packed beer for the occasion.Acanthicus wrote:Indeed, imagine the fishermen after bringing me pariolispos, lovely Crenis, rare Spatuloricaria and then they saw me partying because of a common, grey fish nobody buys.
