Rio Japurá
Photos from recent trip to the Rio Japurá, also known as the Caquetá in Colombia. Collections were made not far from the Colombian border in fact. The river system is vast, completely unpopulated, and very poorly surveyed, so it was a privilege to visit a place like this.
It looks like a productive trip, but actually the fishing was very hard, as it was peak high water season. I imagine in the low water season it would have been sensational. Once IDs are officially verified, all pics can go in the CLOG.
(margin of main river among marginal vegetation, also in igapó flooded forest)
Different (clearwater igarapé forest stream)

Awesome, there are a few new spp. in there. That Heptapterid with the golden collar is pictured in Baensch and I also collected in Peru. I think it is very widespread. Some great, odd, fishes.racoll wrote:Once IDs are officially verified, all pics can go in the CLOG.
