I concur. This is commonly called a click beetle because when you hold their head or body they make a click sound trying to get away from their captor.

I agree, used to be labeled A. melanops. The clicking is also a form of escape: if it clicks on the ground, this action propels it up into the air and away from danger.

We have them here in FL too. My silver aros appear to love their taste.
